History
Jordan had been calling the Jones Family Farms Winery and Farm Updates Hotline for over 2 decades. He came up with the idea of setting up his own hotline multiple times over those years, but he had no idea how to do it. He brought it up in his Discord server, where CaptainChris had volunteered to setup and run the hotline through the WikiPhone project and using the WikiPhone Phone System. Within a few days the hotline was setup and the video was uploaded to his channel announcing the creation of the hotline on November 20, 2025.
Origin of name
The name "ambient temperature line" was chosen by Jordan who commonly uses puns. He cites the reason for calling it an ambient temperature line as "why be normal".[1]
Technical Information
The hotline is hosted on the WikiPhone Phone System (Asterisk) which is on the WikiPhone VPS server. When a user calls the hotline, the Playback application plays the recording and once done playing, hangs up.
