WikiPhone as an independent project, is committed to protecting user's privacy. Before using a WikiPhone account and becoming a regular user, we recommend you become familiar with our privacy policy, and make sure you are comfortable with what we do.
Account & Data Deletion
As of right now, WikiPhone does not have a way to delete an account on your own from the user preferences panel. To request your account be deleted along with it's associated data, email privacy@telephones.wiki from your account email with your username stating you would like your account deleted. Please note that your name will still remain with all edits you made in your time with WikiPhone in order to ensure you receive credit for your work permanently. All data associated to you will be deleted. Anonymous data will remain.
Users under the age of 13
In compliance with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act, persons under the age of 13 shall have parental consent before requesting or using an account on WikiPhone. Parents will have full control over the data associated with their child's account. And can request a review or deletion at any time.
Data Collection
We are as minimal as possible when it comes to data collection. Data collection practices do not exceed standard industry practices for independently operated non-profit sites. All data collected is essential to the operation, auditing, and moderation of our services.

- Your IP address & associated data
- Your browser's user agent
- Which pages you browsed
Data we collect when you request or log into an account
- Your IP address & associated data
- Your browser's user agent
- Your email address
- Your username
- Passwords stored in a hashed, non-viewable form using a cryptographic algorithm
- Any other information you choose to provide
Data we collect when you edit a page
- Your IP address & associated data
- Your name/username
Data we collect when you complete a survey
- Your region
- Any data you submit along with the survey
Data we collect when you call in
- Your telephone number & associated CNAM if using PSTN or
- Your caller ID & IP address if using an IAX collectors network or
- Your IP address & user agent if using SIP
- Date/time of the call
- Duration of the call
- What service you called
Non uses of collected data
- We never ever sell or give out any collected data
- We never use any collected data for any purpose outside the project without your explicit written/verbal consent
- We do not store collected data on on servers not maintained or run by the project
- User passwords are stored in hashed form and are not viewable by the project. Users are encouraged to use a unique password for this site.
Use of collected data
Examples of uses of collected data include (but are not limited to)
- An IP address may be used to enforce a block due to vandalism.
- Your browser user-agent may be used to fix bugs specific to your web-browsing platform.
- Your email address is used to indefinity who you are at login, and for us to contact you if necessary.
- Your password is used to ensure only you can access your account.
Storage of data
All data relating to WikiPhone is stored on our own servers. Our servers are rented from OVH Groupe SA (OVHCloud), a IaaS (Infrastructure as a Service) provider and a french company, and are physically located in the United States and Canada. WikiPhone does not store data on any third party "SaaS" or "PaaS" cloud services. Data is encrypted whenever possible. We follow best practices for software used, including ensuring all software is up-to-date, and following industry standard security practices.
Deletion of data
You may request a deletion of all stored data by emailing privacy@telephones.wiki
