SIPcord
SIPcord is a Discord bot and hobby project created by Discord employee Jonas Bengtson (known online as coral) that lets it's users join Discord voice channels with a SIP compatible device, such as a phone, PBX, or ATA. The free service provides the user credentials to connect to one of server "bridge", which translates the call between the RTP session established by SIP and Discord's WebRTC session, thus letting the user join the voice channel. The user can use the web interface to map a extension to a specific channel. The service also bridges calls from anyone else using SIPcord in that channel.
History
On January 31, 2026, a video was released on coral's YouTube channel announcing the project. The video has gained a ton of traction and the project grew quickly afterwords.
Service Limitations
As SIPcord is a hobby project, users should not depend on the service for uptime.
The service only allows users to map extensions 1000-9999. Which is a typical extension range used in a PBX.
As with any other Discord bot, in order to use SIPcord in a server, an administrator must have added the bot the server before hand, and the user must be in the server, and have permission to that voice channel.
Due to Discord API limitations, SIPcord cannot be used for direct calls or in group chats.
There is currently no way for the SIPcord user to tell who is in the Discord call or also in the SIPcord session, or for the people in the Discord channel to know who's connected via SIPcord.
